Despite a major fire that razed its head office in May last year, Western Guaranty Corporation (WGC) exhibited impressive growth in 2018, rising from 29th to 13th in net income as reported by the Insurance Commission. In latest figures obtained from the IC, it was noted that the Binondo-based insurance company posted a net income of more than P93.1 million, more than double the P41.6 million it registered the previous year. Western Guaranty Executive Vice President Ms. Claire Chua credited the company’s hardworking and dedicated employees and agents for this growth. “We work like family here, making sure that addressing our clients’ needs is always the priority,” she said. WGC also posted an impressive growth in net worth, climbing from 47th to 29th in the IC ranking with P845.6 million, a 36-percent increase from its P621.9 million net worth in 2017. She said that as of this writing, the company is ready to comply with the P900 million minimum net worth requirement of the IC for this year and added that the company is right on track to fully hit the P1.3 billion net worth requisite before the 2022 deadline. “Our client base is growing and we are developing new and innovative products that are accessible to and affordable for them and to the public especially the underserved.  All our initiatives are directed towards providing our clients the best that they deserve.”, she emphasized. WGC was established in 1964 and has grown steadily over the last 50 years to be now one of the largest, most credible, and most stable non-life insurance companies in the Philippines. Western Guaranty established a new head office on the 11th floor of the ETY Building also in Binondo, Manila, where most of its Filipino-Chinese clients are located.   The company is present as well, and will continue to expand, in all key areas nationwide thru its branches, service offices, and agencies spread across the country.
